Alternatives to MyEggtimer.com and BusyNoise.com

Online egg timing software has become more sophisticated. Check out:

http://e.ggtimer.com/

It's great and should work in most browsers.

They even have a version for tea drinkers: http://steep.it/

The reason I bring up other sites (which I have no association with) is that I will be closing down both MyEggTimer.com and BusyNoise.com.  The closing date I set is August 31, 2009.

  • BusyNoise.com always had annoying bugs that I never got around to fixing.
  • I don't like keeping a site up that is easily outmatched by the competition.
  • It's also a pain making a website that uses JavaScript and Flash work across all the different browers.

If you know of any other egg timer site that is better than e.ggtimer.com and my own 2 sites, let me know below in the comments section so I can tell others.

I really wish you wouldn't shut down the egg timer. I use it on a regular basis and IMHO it beats the competition. For example, e.ggtimer.com uses about 35% of my laptop's CPU and slows firefox to a crawl. Your site, from what I can tell, doesn't use any CPU and treats my browser fine. I even have a link to your timer on my blog. I'll be sad to see it go.

35%? Ouch!

If I can't find a better alternative to e.ggtimer.com by Aug. 31, I guess I will keep it up a few more months to see what happens. Thanks again for the info. :)

I absolutely love myEggTimer.com. I usually it almost daily, for a variety of tasks. The sites you've linked as alternatives really do pale in comparison. How 'bout I give you a pony to keep this great site running (please note this offer always works with my 5 mo old daughter )? ;)

Sorry to hear this. I use myeggtimer all the time when I'm cooking and using the internet. It has saved many meals and baked goods. Thanks for creating it and allowing us to use it. Best wishes!

Anyone know of any better sites once this one goes down? myeggtimer.com is far better than e.ggtimer.com imo. And, yes, I notice a cpu spike too.

Please. I use your timer all the time! LOVE it!!! I can't afford CPU spikes! I use it to keep track of multiple items at the same time, works awesomely well.
